Own an old Desktop and refuse to upgrade from IDE to SATA? There is still Hope for you!

You can’t imagine the number of IDE based computer are still running in this all SATA world. Still if for whatever reasons you are stuck with an IDE capable only PC I am sure that you are facing quite some difficulties to find replacement ODD or HDD. Sure there is still the PCI solution that allow you to connect SATA drive on a IDE board, but, if you are too lazy and/or don’t have a clue on how to get one of these PCI Card, Buffalo has made sure to have at least a 20x DVD IDE Burner available for you with the DVSM-20FBV!
Announced at 5,000 Yen and available in black and white this PATA (ATAPI) DVD Burner is just what you need with your good old Celeron based XP Desktop

These are usually a clone of the Pioneer DVR-11x writers — you can even put the Pioneer firmware on them and if you know where to look, make them totally region free.

For me SATA DVD writers are still a bit expensive so I stick with my pair of DVR-112 in my Mac Pro
