LG Thrill 4G coming to AT&T this summer
Today at the 2011 3D Entertainment Summit in New York, while Tim O’Brien, Vice President of Marketing for LG Mobile Phones, was delivering remarks on technology’s important role in the evolution of entertainment and 3D specifically, he added that the LG THRILL 4G will be launching this summer on AT&T.
Exclusive to AT&T, the US version of the Optimus 3D, although the Thrill 4G will arrive in stores this summer, no specific date was provided.
If you’re unfamiliar with this 4.3-inch powerhouse, it packs a dual-core 1GHz dual-channel RAM processor, two 5-megapixel stereoscopic 3D cameras on the back capable of recording 720p video in 3D and 1080p in 2D, a front-facing camera, plus the ability to convert 2D content to 3D, without requiring 3D glasses, HDMI, DLNA and hotspot capability.
Although I’m quite amazed with this phone and am considering it since I use AT&T, it still will only ship with Android 2.2 Froyo, but can access AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ network. Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long for this to hit the market. I’m also hoping it can be rooted and we can get some custom roms on it like with the LG Optimus 2x.
