The excellent Rec-Pot R goes up to 800GB!
I-O Data has been offering for a few years in Japan the Rec-Pot. These are hard disk based media recorders compatible with digital TV and able to record video in 28.3Mbps Mpeg2-TS. As 500GB seem not sufficient, I-O Data brought them up to 800GB. In 1125i (Japan standard), that means 66 hours of recording time. That’s fine, but I wouldn’t know what to record off the Japanese TV besides the millions of TV shows…

1125i is not just a Japanese resolution, it is in fact the overall number of lines in the signal, it is more generally known as 1080i, the extra 45 lines are blanking lines. The same applies to PAL signals 625 lines in the signal of which 576 lines are visible.
