Toshiba demonstrate the advantage of its Modular Data Center at Tokyo Smart Grid Exhibition

Introduced for the first time last November by Toshiba and with a single operational unit at Toshiba Fuchu Complex in western Tokyo, Toshiba was this week demonstrating all the advantage of its Modular Data Center at Tokyo Smart Grid Exhibition.
One of the many advantages of Toshiba’s solution is how “fast” you can set-up of its Modular Center in just 3 month while regular ones that can take a year to deploy.
Toshiba’s prototype features a steel frame structure-allowing modules to be stacked in order to be easily fitted everywhere. Each server room supports up to 200kVA of power, and can fit nine racks of equipment with a 46-server capacity.
Thanks to a clever design Toshiba is claiming that its modular data center airflow allow to reduce power consumption by 65 percent compared to a typical data center.
