Nikon announced in Japan the D40, a new 6.1Mpix DSLR which is the D50’s little brother, with a smaller and lighter case (126x64x94mm and 475g).
The D40 has a bigger control screen (2.3”), supports up to ISO1600, SD cards (including SDHC), has a new Auto Focus engine and a new GUI. This is a very good DSLR for those of you who want to take the plunge.
