2 new Olympus digital Dictaphones
3 days ago, Sanyo announced 2 new Dictaphones. Now Olympus is doing the same and offers the Voice-Trek DS-50 (1GB) and DS-40 (512MB). Both can read MP3 files, but only record in WMA. Olympus included an ambient noise reduction system to improve the quality of your recordings, and the DSS Player v7 software with a PodCast module to upload your audio files. They also include the VCVA system which allows you to start and stop your recording with a voice command.

All of the voice will be recorded directly onto its built-in 1GB hard drive which is enough for hours of interview. Finally, with the provided USB connectivity, you can simply plug the recorder onto your computer’s USB port and transfer the recording there.
Voice-Trek V-40 model has 512MB storage capacity and come in gold color. V-50, with 1GB capacity, has an elegant black color. Both have four built-in preset equalizers, and repeat and random playback functions. The battery casing detaches from the body of the voice recorder; exposing a USB plug. This design makes it very easy to plug into devices like your computer to transfer recordings, MP3 files, etc.
