    that sounds impossible unless it had some kind of internal battery and recharge times…. i cant believe there is a 24″ monitor that consumes less than 5 watts  while ON (not idle or stand by mode)

      I think that the new usb 3.0 output is more than 5W. That would explain how they could do it.
