Sony Vaio Type G, the latest ultra killer weighing less than 900g

A few years ago, Sony offered the X505, an ultra thin PC made of carbon. Unfortunately, this model was quickly abandoned, leaving all its fans without a decent computer on the market. Panasonic and its R5 filled the void and became the leader of compact, thin, and robust computers. But the almighty Sony finally woke up and offers now the Vaio Type G, a PC equipped with a 12.1” display. It weights 898g without an optical drive, or 984g with one, and the case is entirely made of carbon, which is far more superior than the R5!!
There’s a choice of 3 CPUs, including Celeron, Core Solo U1300 and U1400, 40 to 80GB of hard disk, Bluetooth, Wifi, and an impressive 12.5h battery life in Stamina mode (with the correct battery). This PC will be sold in Japan around the end of November or beginning of December. My God, it really looks good… here’s 15 photos of the beast for your enjoyment!

Why does every brand insist on internal CD-ROM/DVD?????
This will only make the computer heavy and big.

Software can be instaled from Network or external HD/USB/Flash.
Music and small media files shall be played from internal HD.
DVD Movies need a decent (42inch screen) and 5.1 deent speakers, so why include it on a ultralight laptop???

Software and music vendors shall adapt, phisical media will end. while it lasts we have the physical media wars…

At least give the oportunity to replace the internal CD-Drive with a secondary batery…
