Sony puts VAIO S and F Series up for pre-order in the US

It seems that Sony’s been quite busy on the laptop front, recently announcing two series of laptops now available for pre-order, the VAIO S and VAIO F Series.

Starting with the S series, this 13.3-inch ultraportable is packed in a thin 0.95-inch profile that only weighs 3.8-pounds with the standard battery. It’s powered by a second generation Intel Core i7 processor, comes standard with AMD Radeon HD 6630 graphics and 1GB of video memory, 1600 x 900 resolution, a 500GB hard drive, fingerprint reader, and a Blu-ray drive.

The VAIO S Series laptops are available for pre-order now starting at $1,350, while the SB series is still available starting at $969 with less impressive specs, including 512MB of video memory, 1366 x 768 resolution, a DVD player, and an Intel Core i5 processor.

The other series that Sony has available for pre-order now is the Vaio F Series, which comes in two flavors and weighs in at 6.85-pounds with the standard battery. The first one comes with a 16-inch 3D display with a 2D-to-3D conversion button, and the second a 16.4-inch 2D model.

Other features include a quad core Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M or 520M graphics with respectively 1GB or 512MB of video memory, 1920×1080 resolution, USB 3.0, up to a 750 GB hard drive  and S-Force Front Surround 3D audio.

Available for pre-order now, the 3D model starts at $1,659, and the 2D model starts at $1,100.


Optional Sheet Battery Doubles Battery Life Up to 15 Hours
