KDJ-ONE the world’s First MeeGo-based Mobile Audio Workstation

At the Embedded Systems Expo, CyberStep exhibited the KDJ-ONE, a mobile audio workstation running the MeeGo OS.
KDJ-ONE is designed as an all-in-one audio workstation, enabling users to do full music production using one machine. It has a 5-inch multi-touch screen with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and it can be used intuitively, by combining keyboards and jog dials.
“KDJ was originally included as software in our games. And now, we’ve actually made it into hardware as KDJ-ONE, so users can compose music.”
The KDJ-ONE features a 1 GHz Atom processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4.0 GB of internal storage, wireless LAN, USB, and two 2,000 mAh batteries. Apart from music, it can also run various Linux applications, including Firefox and Skype.
“We think this machine can be used by a wide range of people, from core users who are really into music and enjoy composing, to people who’ve never produced music before, which includes me as well.”
KDJ-ONE will be released during 2011, priced at around 60,000-70,000 yen.
