KDDI’s booth had many little new surprises today for us but the most interesting of them all was without a doubt “SWING”. Think of swing as an indoor navigation system that will let you quickly find your direction within an area thanks to a simple “Compass” like guiding arrow.
Also capable to work outdoor, swing relies on the detection of pre-installed borne linked to a certain area.
Let’s imagine that you are lost in a Huge department store and that each stores, facilities, restaurant, Information counter or whatever you can find in a department store has its own “SWING’ compatible module. Once you are in this department store you will have a list of stores, facilities available around you, just select one, swing your phone and let the arrow/compass on your screen guide you to your destination.

Personally I think that swing is just fantastic, but it will only works well if everyone use it indoor our outdoor. Swing can also be very useful in huge industrial complex or campus for example.
