Microsoft special offer for students, buy a Windows 7 PC get a FREE Xbox 360
Now this is something that you don’t see everyday and I noticed it thanks to a tweet by Xbox Live’s Major Nelson. I thought it was something worth mentioning.
Although the school year is ending for many high school students and most colleges have already graduated their students, Microsoft announced today that starting May 22 in the US, and soon in Canada and France, students with a .EDU email address can get a free Xbox 360 when they buy a Windows 7 PC for $699 or more – no strings attached.
Microsoft said in their blog that while a Windows 7 PC is perfect for staying connected to social networks, doing school work, gaming, etc., an Xbox 360 gives students more entertainment at their fingertips after they finish their studies (I’m just going to say it, it could also go a different way, distracting them from studies).
Either way, although students can buy any PC that is in the price range, Microsoft recommended a few PCs designed just for students, the Samsung Series 9, the HP Pavillion DM4, and the Dell Inspiron 14r.
So, if you’re getting ready for college, or just about to finish your college career, check out this deal while it lasts!
