Let’s Visit Tokyo – Toda in Izu

Let’s Visit Tokyo – Toda in Izu

The Let’s Visit Tokyo series is back and we hope for good, but since we do not like to do things like they should, we will not visit a specific area of Tokyo today but rather a small little beach and temple located in Toda City in Izu, around 200km away from Tokyo.
Last week was the annual Japanese one week-long public Holiday (Golden Week) and my family and I traveled to Izu for several days in order to take a rest.
Anyway back to today’s video, Toda is a small fisherman town at the bottom on Izu’s mountain that has the particularity to have a small hidden temple located far, far away in Toda’s dike and in the middle of a little forest.

Lost in the middle of nowhere this little temple is like an Hidden paradise, just a few meters away from the sea, the place is amazingly quiet and you will only hear the winds blowing in the trees, cool in Summer, breaking the wind in Winter, this little temple look like heaven on earth!

On a Side note, as you know I started the Let’s Visit Tokyo Series in April 2009, two years ago as a personal side project unrelated to AkihabaraNews with its own domain name : www.TokyoStreetView.com
It’s been two year that I take on my personal time; most week-ends actually, to shoot and publish these videos, and today in order to continue to do so I am asking you for some help, financial help actually. Rest assure I am not going to ask you the impossible, but I would much appreciate if you could help me to invest on some gears to continue this series. Indeed I am planning to invest on many little things like a REAL mic for once like The Rode NTG-2 for example (Sold at 17,800 Yen in Japan), a new Tripod for more stable Videos (Manfrotto ideally) and if I can… a new Canon EF50mm F1.2L USM lens (145,000 Yen).

So if you feel generous and want to help me in making better/cooler videos do not hesitate to send your donation here : Donate to Let’s Visit Tokyo (please leave the LetsVisitTokyo Memo untouched).
If in the other hands you are a Camera, Mic, Tripod Manufacutrer and want to give away some goodies for this series, just drop us an email to info[at]akihabaranews.com Let’s Visit Tokyo.

PS: We are still looking for a stable solution to host our video for cheap so please bear with us and keep on using Vimeo until we found something more adequate.

@ae710ea3f53cebb51c85c77a84fddce7:disqus It seems right, but I never succeed to reproduce the problem myself… But rest assure we are looking for an affordable and fast solution to this problem.

Hosting Videos shure is expensive… Looking for a similar solution too.

    @ae710ea3f53cebb51c85c77a84fddce7:disqus & @Daimaou:disqus :

    OOPS …

I sent my last comment to Daimaou and (by mistake) to Fabimaru too.

That comment should only have been addressed to Daimaou. SORRY SORRY

    • Lucus Anon

LOL … now my apology is posted, but my first comment isn’t yet visible (awaiting moderation?) … Never-mind, just ignore me, I will go away now.

Getting the same error with the caption: “Permission Denied”

A simple and free solution is just uploading it to youtube in 1080p, the quality is good with variable bitrates above average 5MBits for h.264 high profile video and variable 128kbits AAC (max video bitrate reaches even 15MBits)

    Best Regards

@cb5abb949dbf4b5f1b7150c191e95687:disqus Viemo is WAY better in quality than YouTube, but we are talking here about the direct download, people like to watch these videos on their TV and storing over 100 Videos with an average size of 500 to 800MB is not always cheap.

This said if you cannot watch the video above on Vimeo’s player this is most probably due to one of your FireFox plug-in. Try on another browser or temporary disable your plugins and it will work. I am using FireFox 4 with one or two plugins but some readers contacted us with the same problem and removing one plugin in their case fixed the problem.

I have no problem looking the video, and never mentioned it either.

Vimeo only offers 720p quality about the same as 720p on youtube.

I dont know where you got this, that vimeo is way better….

Just try to download some vimeo HD videos and compare it with a analyzing program to youtube 720p and 1080p…

And IF the download option on vimeo would work, it would be better than youtube because they offer “only” the 1080p-youtube-converted

      Best Regards

Thanks for the great upload. I really love the “Let’s Visit” episodes!

it seems disqus’s moderators approves links in comments not very fast…

I dont like platforms which keep you in a straitjacket…

But I have done the work so I dont want it to be useless:

I have done a little comparison of video/audioquality on vimeo vs. youtube so everyone can form an opinion about quality:

    vimeo 720p – youtube 720p – youtube 1080p
