Vimeo only offers 720p quality about the same as 720p on youtube.

I dont know where you got this, that vimeo is way better….

Just try to download some vimeo HD videos and compare it with a analyzing program to youtube 720p and 1080p…

And IF the download option on vimeo would work, it would be better than youtube because they offer “only” the 1080p-youtube-converted

This said if you cannot watch the video above on Vimeo’s player this is most probably due to one of your FireFox plug-in. Try on another browser or temporary disable your plugins and it will work. I am using FireFox 4 with one or two plugins but some readers contacted us with the same problem and removing one plugin in their case fixed the problem.

A simple and free solution is just uploading it to youtube in 1080p, the quality is good with variable bitrates above average 5MBits for h.264 high profile video and variable 128kbits AAC (max video bitrate reaches even 15MBits)
