Let’s Visit Tokyo – Toda in Izu

The Let’s Visit Tokyo series is back and we hope for good, but since we do not like to do things like they should, we will not visit a specific area of Tokyo today but rather a small little beach and temple located in Toda City in Izu, around 200km away from Tokyo.
Last week was the annual Japanese one week-long public Holiday (Golden Week) and my family and I traveled to Izu for several days in order to take a rest.
Anyway back to today’s video, Toda is a small fisherman town at the bottom on Izu’s mountain that has the particularity to have a small hidden temple located far, far away in Toda’s dike and in the middle of a little forest.
Lost in the middle of nowhere this little temple is like an Hidden paradise, just a few meters away from the sea, the place is amazingly quiet and you will only hear the winds blowing in the trees, cool in Summer, breaking the wind in Winter, this little temple look like heaven on earth!
On a Side note, as you know I started the Let’s Visit Tokyo Series in April 2009, two years ago as a personal side project unrelated to AkihabaraNews with its own domain name : www.TokyoStreetView.com
It’s been two year that I take on my personal time; most week-ends actually, to shoot and publish these videos, and today in order to continue to do so I am asking you for some help, financial help actually. Rest assure I am not going to ask you the impossible, but I would much appreciate if you could help me to invest on some gears to continue this series. Indeed I am planning to invest on many little things like a REAL mic for once like The Rode NTG-2 for example (Sold at 17,800 Yen in Japan), a new Tripod for more stable Videos (Manfrotto ideally) and if I can… a new Canon EF50mm F1.2L USM lens (145,000 Yen).
So if you feel generous and want to help me in making better/cooler videos do not hesitate to send your donation here : Donate to Let’s Visit Tokyo (please leave the LetsVisitTokyo Memo untouched).
If in the other hands you are a Camera, Mic, Tripod Manufacutrer and want to give away some goodies for this series, just drop us an email to info[at]akihabaranews.com Let’s Visit Tokyo.
PS: We are still looking for a stable solution to host our video for cheap so please bear with us and keep on using Vimeo until we found something more adequate.
