NEC moves toward a Blu-Ray-HD-DVD combo
Let’s be honest… this idea of proposing 2 HD formats is a major stupidity. It looks like we’ve got 2 manufacturers, with Sony and Toshiba, who are trying to show off who’s got the biggest one, instead of proposing a viable solution for us customers.
While I’m siding with Blu-Ray for several reasons, NEC is lowering the heat by offering a solution that has already worked wonderfully for DVD+Rs and DVD-Rs: a hybrid player! You’re not dreaming and it won’t be available tomorrow already, but NEC announced they will market early 2007 the μPD63410 and the μPC3360 so you’ll be able to read BRs and HD-DVDs… THANK YOU NEC!

Have they found a way around the mutual exclusive clause then? Or are they accepting to be sued to bankruptcy in court for combining the 2 formats?
