White iPhone 4 coming April 28, goodbye fake parts

White iPhone 4 coming April 28, goodbye fake parts

I promise to keep the stories about products from American companies to a minimum, although I am also American, but love them or hate them, everybody talks about Apple. Today Apple revealed through their site that the white iPhone 4, which everyone has been looking for since June 2010 when it originally launched, is finally coming tomorrow.

One reason I’m mentioning this is if you follow tech news as much as I do, you may remember the only way to get a white iPhone up until this point was to buy one of the prototypes floating around in China or to modify it yourself with a conversion kit sold through a high schooler’s website called whiteiphone4now.com.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak (Woz) previously told media that he purchased the parts from Fei Lam of Queens, who started a business and sold more than $130,000 worth of Foxconn parts for the unreleased white iPhone 4. Lam is currently under investigation by Apple with his site since shutdown.

All that aside, the white version should start being sold officially worldwide tomorrow, which in the U.S. will be available from both AT&T and Verizon, with no changes besides a proximity sensor tweak and a new paint job.

It will be available with a two-year contract at $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model.

Usually, white is the color of innocence.
Is for the manufacturer “Apple” the color more important than the protection of personal user data?
    It seems so.
Even the white I-Phone is obviously not innocent.
Anyway, there is as yet no positve statement by the manufacturer.
Ultimately, the customer must decide what is important to him:
The color or his Privacy Policy.
