JVC Everio HD
JVC announced at the IFA in Germany a new pocket camcorder for its EVERIO range equipped with a hard disk. It should be HD ready and should have a 3CCD sensor. There is no more information as of now, except this very good news: when available, that should be the first compact HD camcorder with a hard disk on the market.

I think the Sony AVCHD probably will be the first compact HD camcorder with a hard disk. Sony SR1 is supposed to be available in Japan starting next week, while this JVC hard disk HD camcorder is not going to be released before next year.
According to your article the JVC camcorder “when available, should be the first compact HD camcorder with a hard disk on the market.” That’s not true, apparently. Sony’s HDR-SR1 hard disk high definition camcorder is to be released this October.
