Hatsune Miku aids in Japanese support relief

Just announced by Mikatan’s blog, Good Smile company will be producing a nendoroid edition (cute-ified mini PVC figurines) of the famous Japanese vocaloid Hatsune Miku. After the earthquake hit Eastern Japan a couple of weeks ago, a lot of people there are still struggling to find a bit of comfort in life again.

Good Smile Company, a very famous figurine/nendoroid/figma manufacturer based in  Tokyo decided to make a special edition of a previously released nendoroid model from the highly acclaimed VOCALOID Hatsune Miku. Vocaloid, is a technology where a human voice can be mimmicked by virtual synthesizers and produce songs, the technology is getting closer and closer to replicate very naturally resonating voices. Hatsune Miku is one of the most famous in the vocaloid series.

A very nice gesture from Good Smile company to produce a gadget in aid to supply the own country’s current needs. The company has already donated 10 000 000 Yen (about 87 000 Euro or 123 000 US Dollar) to the Japanese Red Cross, and to further increase this they are donating a 1 000Yen from every Hatsune Miku “Support ver.” sold.

If you are into this, and wish to buy one to help the people from the tsunami disaster. Do note that the figure is only purchaseable from the Good Smile Online Shop , very high quality for a mere 3000 Yen.

For Japan: Orders will be taken until the 7th April at 23:59.
Overseas: Orders will be taken from the 8th April from 12:00. Further details will be available at that time.

Delivery is expected to be in late July. A separate delivery fee may apply.
