Muvee brings 3D video editing to Android phones

Muvee brings 3D video editing to Android phones

The company Muvee Device Solutions Group  (pronounced like ‘movie’ ..by a cow) released a world’s first with their 3D video editing technology for the Android platform. The group was already a pioneer in the development of video editing applications for mobile devices, now they’re having a new addition to the current lineup with 3D video editing for Android devices.

DSG works closely with device makers and their chip partners to bring highly optimized codecs, algorithms and video creation wizardry to deliver a powerful, complete and enjoyable user experience. For the 3D editing they are using an engine called CODEN (Compressed Domain Editing Engine), a technology stack that bypasses the need to decompress video before making basic edits. In essence it’s a technology that uses compressed 3D HD/HD 720p and makes them editable within the Muvee application, thus reducing the big need on storage space and intense CPU loads. Before this release, HD video editing was only possible by transferring  the files from the phone to PC/Mac/Linux computer first.

CEO Terence Swee said “Consumers who shoot and share video on their mobile phones expect instant gratification,”.  I say: Depends how fast they want to drain the battery life of this particular phone.  Very gratifying when this happens and you’re quite in need of making a phonecall or text.
