I was hoping it would allow the iPhone or iPad to “host” USB, letting one connect a thumb drive or maybe other peripherals. Specs say only “compatible digital camera[s]” and “There is no mass storage. USB mode is not recognized when connected to other devices and digital cameras.”

Well, I suppose HDMI and *limited* hosting at approximately 74 USD is still kinda cool.
