Hanwha japan releases a new USB and HDMI connector for iPad/iPhone4

Hanwha always released pretty interesting and well-built product in Japan and today, they proved it once more with their new UMA-iOSHDMI, an USB and HDMI converter for iPad and iPhone4

Announced at around 5,980 Yen in Japan this new HDMI converter will also you to display 1024×768 pictures, the iPad actual screen resolution on any HDMI capable TVs.

Grrrr! Source site puts most its text in pictures, foiling Google Translate. Oh, wait; the spec sheet is okay…And that answers that. :p

I was hoping it would allow the iPhone or iPad to “host” USB, letting one connect a thumb drive or maybe other peripherals. Specs say only “compatible digital camera[s]” and “There is no mass storage. USB mode is not recognized when connected to other devices and digital cameras.”

Well, I suppose HDMI and *limited* hosting at approximately 74 USD is still kinda cool.
