The first Robot Store in the world?

The Robot Museum which will open its doors to the public in October will also feature a Robot store with apparently over 10,000 different products. It also seems that the PR of this Museum announced that this will be the first Robot store in the World… Well I am not sure for this but I recalled that there are already several of this kind of store in Japan and overseas, anyway this one may have more products that the other.

Can anyone tell me why this shop is in Nagoya? I wasn’t aware Nagoya was Japan’s hot location for big spending robot hobbyists, but who knows?

I noticed recently that BicCamera has a small robot section with a couple of those bipedal fighting robots. And I’m still sortoff sad that Sony made Aibo go extinct. Bad Sony, bad!!

Well nobodies know when they will open, their PR staff will contact us as soon as they decided the opening date.. And few hours after the opening ceremony you will have a nice HD video of the Event

Thanks. Well I just found this :
http://www.robotlab.de/index_engl.htm

Robotlab will expose in the museum from October, 5 so I guess the museum would open on this day?! Maybe Robotlab could confirm…

I wish to go there for the opening, and try to ask my company help me get there, do you know how difficult it is to go from Tokyo airport to Nagoya? I really have no idea where it is, never went to Japan before… and I don’t speak Japanese, is it a problem?

I also have many robotics items, enough to build a robotics exhibition of 100 square meters or more, including Lego items (Bionicle with all the product line from 2001 including prototypes and all collectors, Star Wars, Mindstorms), Master Replicas Lightsabers, all Sony Aibo models, Robosapien V1,… But I still have no idea of how to organize such an exhibition, maybe within this musem or part of another exhibition? If you can help…

Thanks,

Philippe.

I just heard its closing down, which is too bad. Not enough visitors and yes, why in Nagoya and not Tokyo?
