[CEBIT 2011] The MSI Windpad 100a stands out and blends in

When you visit MSI, you don’t just watch one product and it is hard to chose which product you would like to see  but we decided we wanted to see  the Windpad 100a tablet  in action.  It is a marvelous piece of hardware with many new features to show for it.

First of all it runs on Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb 2.X and the screen itself was a joy to watch. Powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2, this Android Based Tablet will be available to get Android 3.0 Honeyvomb upgrade later this may once put on the market.

The MSI easy viewer for touch control makes it easy to watch photos with,  the touch of your finger. The screen however can also be controlled by a mini touchpad on the side in case you don’t want any fingerprints while browsing.

Furthermore the Windpad 100a features a light sensor and has a mini HDMI port as well as a mini USB and a regular USB 2.0 port.

For such a heavyweight product it is surprisingly light weighing only a mere 800 grams.

System specifications:
NVIDIA Tegra 2
Google Android OS 2.X
10.1”  inch capacitive touch panel
The MSI Windpad 100a is yours for 45.300 YEN

What the bloody hell kind of amateur wrote this? There is just so much wrong with the “info” in this article:
    - The tablet in question OBVIOUSLY isn’t running Honeycomb which has a completely revamped UI purpose built for tablets, which this particular device lacks.
    - Locking screen rotation is a standard feature in Honeycomb and is controlled via the quick-access settings menu to reduce the amount of unnecessary buttons on devices.
    - Animated backgrounds has been a standard feature of Android since version 2.1 and the one shown in the pictures is one of the default ones that come with ALL 2.1+ Android devices.
    - How the hell is a touch operated photo viewing app a special feature when, again, ALL Android devices come standard with one, the default gallery-app?!
Please, pleeease don’t write articles on subjects you obviously know less about than the average Hamster… :p

Cool down young Padawan, while I admit that the editor made some mistakes here, this WindPad 100A will be later available on Android 3.0. I appreciate that you are pointing out some mistakes here but it could hav been done a little bit more respectfully.

Apologies, we gave the chance to a new editor to write the articles on Day 1 since I (Ike L.) needed to focus on doing the photos and interview some manufacturers where I already had solid connections. Thanks for pointing this out, I should have proof read them (yet, I tell you, CeBIT was a bit hectic). Most articles from day 2, 3 .. are mine, hope you like them better.

It’s ok to make mistakes once in a while, still a good blog to visit.

Just to add, “Winpad” should be “Windpad” in your topic header.
