Sony Japan discontinued the NEX-3 in Japan

Sony Japan discontinued the NEX-3 in Japan

Without much details of any official statement, all NEX-3 models in Japan including the NEX-3A, NEX-3K and NEX-3D are now no longer available and marked as “Discontinued” on Sony’s official website.
Introduced in June 2010 alongside the NEX-5, the NEX-3 was a very capable 14.2 Mipx APS-C camera.
If you are still interested in this camera, make sure to Visit SonyStyle Japanese Online store to grab one of the few models still available.

Bravo! At least someone is thinking over there! Now let’s discontinue and forget as a nightmare NEX5 too. When I tried right after they were released – I totally hated how NEX5 managed HD video. This is some kind of ridiculous experiment, for which Sony is famous of. Once a while they are producing oddities like that. Nothing wrong with the concept, but how they are implemented it. Arghh…

Well, the NEX-5 is a great camera but sold with a poorly designed UI making it almost impossible for anyone to tweak their shots/videos at will (at least when it first came)

Just want to add that, I got Sony A55 instead – and LOVE it! I use it ~95% fro HD video – and THIS is one awesome camera! Forgetabout the NEX-s! Do not waste your $700 :)

Oh dear. You never bothered to use it with the new firmware, then? Hey, why wait until you’ve tried it out with updated firmware when you can comment based on (very) out of date information – that’d be silly!

WOW – lots of idiots talking out their asses! Obviously have no experience using pro cameras. I picked the NEX over Canons 1D series and am glad I did. More portable with a better image quality. You can have my NEX-3 when you pry it from my COLD DEAD HANDS!

Well, as an owner of the NEX-3 I’m wondering about this step by Sony. The sensor really rockz with a good lens. I use a 3.5/35mm Takumar or the 2.8/24-70mm Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar on the cam.

What I hate is the minimalistic hot shoe or the fact, that I cannot use a remote – what was possible with my old Nikon D40.
