Umi No Hi – We are OFF today
We are OFF today and we will celebrate under the horrible weather of this monday, the Umi No Hi or Marine Day… See you tomorrow !

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Marine Day (海の日, Umi no hi?) is a Japanese national holiday celebrated on the third Monday in July. Many people take advantage of the holiday and summer weather to take a beach trip. As a modern secular holiday there are no traditional ceremonies associated with the day.
“We wish to express our gratitude for the favor of the sea, and it wishes maritime country Japan to prosper” is assumed to be an outline in the law concerning the national holiday. It originally became national holiday “Ocean Day” in 1996 though it was an anniversary “Anniversary of the sea”. At first, the third Monday in July came by revising the national holidays law (happy Monday system) in 2003 it was July 20. In addition, the ocean cup race was newly established in SG of the motorboat race in commemoration of this Ocean Day birth in 1996.
