[MWC 2011] Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Hands-on

[MWC 2011] Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Hands-on

So finally we had some quality time with SE’s latest and extremely tempting Xperia Arc and basically this new ultrathin (8.7mm) android phone is a real wonder.
Already impressed by its design when the Arc was first introduced, once in we finally had the chance to hold this new Smartphone we could not imagine who impressive this new Smartphone is. On a pure technical stand point the Arc is a real marvel and almost flawless, yes almost since unlike most HTC devices, the Arc comes like the Xperia Neo comes with a rather unpleasant and not so impressive plastic cover on its back slightly braking the luxury atmosphere that the Arc was giving us so far.

One powered-up, the Arc full power comes to life and this thanks to a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 paired with an Adreno 205 GPU giving tuned for raw power. Unfortunately and despite this impressive CPU+GPU Combo the first feedback from MWC are not all good and it seems that the models presented there were plagued with some poor optimization of Sony Ericsson’s Interface giving many others and us a sluggish experience, something that we hope will be fixed once the Experia Arc will be put on the market later this March.
