[CP+ 2011] Nikon introduces the Coolpix P500, P300, L120, S9100, S6100, S4100, S3100 and L23 in Japan

Today and almost around the world, Nikon has decided to announced its new line-up of Coolpix camera by introducing eight new models.

Coolpix P500.

The P500 is a compact bridge (115.5×83.7×102.5mm), with a 12.1Mpix censor a 1cm macro mode and a stunning 36x optical Zoom. Announced at around 50,000 Yen, the P500 support SD, SDHC and SDXC cards, ISO 160-3200 and comes with 102Mb of internal memory as well as being capable to record video in 1080p.

Coolpix P300.

The P300 is a compact point and shoot announced in Japan at around 40,000 Yen. This P300 comes with a 12.2Mpix backside illuminated sensor, a 4.2x optical Zoom, ISO 160-1600, SD/SDHC/SDXC with 90Mb of additional internal memory and 1080/30p (H.264) Video

Coolpix L120.

Similar to the P500, the L120 comes however with a 14.1Mpix censor, a 21x Optical Zoom, ISO 160-6400, record video in 720p and just need 4x AA batteries to run.

Coolpix S9100.

Available in three different colors, the S9100 comes with a 12.1Mpix backside illuminated sensor like the P300, a 4cm macro mode, a 18x optical Zoom, ISO 160-1600, SD/SDHC/SDXC with 74Mb of additional internal memory and 1080/30p (H.264) Video

Coolpix S6100.

The cutest of all! Available in three different colors, the S6100 comes with a 16Mpix sensor, a 3cm macro mode, a 7x optical Zoom, ISO 160-1600, SD/SDHC/SDXC with 20Mb of additional internal memory and 1080/30p (H.264) Video.

Coolpix S4100 and S3100.

Both models come with the same basic specifications including a 14Mpix Sensor, ISO80-3100, SD/SDHC/SDXC, 5x optical Zoom and a 720p video mode.
The difference between each models comes however in their respective size, amount of internal memory with 20Mb for the S4100 and 45MB on the S3100 as well as the size of their LCD Monitor with a 3” LCD on the S4100 and just 2.7” on the S3100

Coolpix L23.

Finally the L23 is Nikon’s entry level model with a 5x optical Zoom and 10.1Mpix censor, a 3cm Macro More, ISO80-1600, 22MB of internal memory, SD/SDHC/SDXC and a good old VGA video mode.

    *Yawn* – Nikon Point and shoots just don’t really cut it for most people, with exception of the P7000. What would really get folks excited is announcements from Nikon about new DSLRS (e.g. replacements for D300s, D700), but if you believe Nikon Rumors.com – that’s not happening anytime soon. Let’s hope for some new DSLR lenses, at least.
