The new VAIO Type U

Sony keeps surprising us… They still did not deliver last month’s UX90, and here they are with another model. This one does not have a HDD and will be released at the beginning of July. The HDd will be replaced by 16GB of flash memory. Thanks to this system, the VAIO U will be faster according to the manufacturer. An application that requires 62 seconds on a UX90 will require between 17 and 5.6 seconds on this new model. RAM quantities remain unchanged at 512MB though. Next up a model with a hybrid HDD?

Specs:
CPU: Core Solo U1400(1.20GHz) / Core Solo U1300(1.06GHz) / Celeron M 423 (1.06GHz)
Ram: 512 MB
16 GB Memory Flash
Screen: 4.5″ WSVGA
Battery life: between 2.5h and 4h with the normal battery and between 5.5 and 8h with the high capacity battery
Release date: beginning of July
