    Good job MSI!

Looks nice and small; I wonder if you could make a quiet little Mac mini style HTPC with this.

The cooler is scary. A good case with a well designed exhaust system, LCD and remote control would be great for mythtv.

    Hi folks,
i’m just wondering that two kinds of this board are around. Look here:

    http://epiacenter.de/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2310

At Hardware Heaven they tested one with other coolers mounted on the board (This one is way too much and too big i think! Zacate has only 18w tdp!).
Can anyone tell me which one will be the one to buy??? And one last question goes out to akihabara: Do you know anything about the pricing of this board? Please let me know.

    BIGTHX. :)

Sry folks! Got it now…two different Boards: E350IA-E45 (above) and E350IS-E45 (the one with smaller coolers).

  • B

A big cooler on a low TDP part is a good thing, not a bad thing. If the can run more slowly it will make much less noise.

… assuming it is well designed, of course, and not just pasted on by some chimpanzee who chose it because the bright blue colour looks ‘rad’.

@B: Thanks for the complement, but i think the cooler on the E350IA-E45 (above) is too big for the most mITX cases, especially the lower ones!

What you meant is that the bigger fan is the better, but i meant not the fan but the cooling element itself. ;)

Better try understanding before writing such a crappy answer. ;)

The heat sink is lower than the USB/Ethernet stack on the backplate, so it will not be in the way in a small enclosure. The bigger the heatsink, the more heat it will dissipate and thus the fan wont have to spin as fast.

But the fan looks tiny = high rpm

  • rocky

By the way do anybody know the aprox. price range in India…
