Look at that, Takara Tomy Sprint Gear a watch for kids that we could compare to a Nike+iPod setting was on display at Toy Forum 2011.

The concept being the Sprint Gear is pretty nice and encourage kids to push their limits, Sprint Gear once connected to its matching shoes includes 11 different activities separated in two modes with “Training Mode” and a “Mini Game Mode”, the Sprintgear once connected to Shunsoku latest sport shoes, the SJJ-4490 and SJJ-4570, will be able to collect each and any of your step and then provide to your Sprintgear the necessary data for your desired activity.

Sure the Spring Gear is quite bulky and does not look sophisticate, but for a 10 year old, this little Sprint Gear definitively looks cool!
