Active Matrix OLED Display from Toppan

Toppan officially announced that they successfully developed a 5.5″ 400×234 “Active Matrix OLED” Screen. So what is this about? Well actually the Passive Matrix Screen is quite popular, but the Active Matrix offers a greater life spam and this kind of screen for a small consumption of energy. Now the other interesting point here is the fabrication process, which is similar to a relief film impression, which gives a smooth and uniform panel (If we understood correctly the Japanese Press Release). This kind of screen will be sold in 2007 and will most probably be installed on PC or DVD players.
