However, the lowest price I could find for the U5 in the States was about $130 USD (I imagine the U7 is priced similarly). Granted, that was just a quick search. Still, I think it’s a bit pricey despite its cool factor.

However, the US keyboard product page makes no mention of the program, which makes me think it’s a new development that happened after the original keyboard went on sale – which also means this keyboard can also be enjoyed with just the onboard settings features that don’t require a separate program – ie, only four colors instead of 512 hues, and no random lighting effects. Being able to set up the colors without any sort of program is, in fact, very interesting, because it probably means I could use this on my Linux machine too.
