Samsung tries to redefine digital photography with new concept design
The “UCIM Camera” by Jung Eun Park reconsiders photo taking and sharing for the average consumer. We no longer print doubles, share negatives, or even think much about printing at all. Although it is easy to share and access our friends’ images online, if we really want the original uncompressed, unedited image, it becomes an ordeal of pestering and emailing zipped files. In this concept design, the camera is covered in USB ports, and a user needs only to plug in their friends USB stick to share the originals. It is a bit old fashioned, but I see a concept like this coming in great when posing for those awesome group shots where the photographer (innocent stranger) ends up with a pile of cameras at their feet taking the same photo over, and over, and over, and over.
