Nikon Coolpix P7000 gets new firmware

The new firmware, v1.1, released yesterday for both Windows and Mac, lists four changes. The new release reduces the recording time for images shot in .NRW raw format, reduces the frequency of the “Initializing lens. Cannot focus.” error message during autofocus operation, fixes a problem which would prevent zoom operation in certain circumstances, and prevents a loss of highlight detail on the LCD display while half-pressing the shutter button with Active D-Lighting enabled. The Coolpix P7000, a 10megapixel camera with a stabilized 7.1x optical zoom lens was originally announced in September of this year. The new firmware can be downloaded from Nikon’s website download page.
