A battery that charges by moving around

Researchers at Kanazawa University in Japan created a battery, the size of a 1-yen coin, made of a very special alloy, that allows it to be many times more effective than any vibration-based energy generating device currently existing. Applications for this project are of course limitless, but one could mainly see how this could come in handy when attached to a portable electronic device, such as a smartphone or PMP.
