The full-3D holographic Fifa World Cup won’t happen.

The word was out a few days ago, the 2022 Fifa World Cup will take place in Qatar. As much as we want to congratulate them, we can’t refrain from shedding a tear, for it means Japan won’t host the technological marvel announced in their bid. Japan presented at the time of their candidacy a project including AR, holographic recording and broadcasting, and many more technological wonders.

For those of you who didn’t know about the project, here’s the official video.
