Sanyo’s “Hit” solar cell achieves world’s highest conversion efficiency

Today in Tokyo Sanyo, one of the leaders in photovoltaic technologies, announced the future mass-production of its record-breaking solar cell named Hit. Boasting an energy conversion rate of 21.6%, it is now the most efficient solar cell in the world. The new N series 240W model has a 19% conversion efficiency and will be commercialized around February 2011.
