Sanyo’s “Hit” solar cell achieves world’s highest conversion efficiency

Today in Tokyo Sanyo, one of the leaders in photovoltaic technologies, announced the future mass-production of its record-breaking solar cell named Hit. Boasting an energy conversion rate of 21.6%, it is now the most efficient solar cell in the world. The new N series 240W model has a 19% conversion efficiency and will be commercialized around February 2011.

    i.e. this is COMMERCIAL PRODUCT, while your references are all to the RESEARCH records.
    Do you know the [huge] difference?

    @Tzs did you at least read anything about spectrolab business before posting that? — hmm… NO you actually didn’t. so JFYI they have already sold TONNES of multijunction 26+% cells; pls google it or just start with http://www.boeing.com/news/releases/2006/q4/061024c_nr.html //and BTW can you mention any differences between ‘o’ & ’0′?? cheers mate ;) )

    1. Yea, I clearly saw 0, somehow. However, it happens to prints o, while I definitely pressed 0.
    2. Think, mate, you should compare similar with likely, not vice-verse ;) ), as space AsGa technology is actually have nothing in common with residential “make-it-by-your-hands” sets for big boys 8)).
    3. this is “capacity building” resource and not rating journal, enjoy.
