JVC Ships 177 Camcorders to CNN

The Victor Company of Japan announced in a press release today that it had delivered 177 GY-HM100 high-def camcorders to US Cable News Network last month. The camcorders are quite compact for TV station cameras, measuring 138x179x366 mm (5.4x7x14.4 in) and weighing only 1.32 kg (2.9 lbs), and can record in MPEG4, which fits perfectly with CNN’s workflow. This shipment of SDHC camcorders was part of a replacement program of CNN’s aging DV tape cameras used at their bureaus worldwide, and JVC hope to receive additional orders in 2011.
