LG unveils LTE USB modem, Verizon Wireless’s first

The launch of the LG VL600 has just been announced. The LTE (Long Term Evolution) USB modem is the first of its kind for Verizon Wireless. This coming Sunday, Verizon Wireless will launch 4G LTE service in 38 major U.S. cities, covering 60 commercial airports and 110million people. The LG VL600 features a lightweight design with a USB flip cover and enables high-speed connection to the 4G network. The network is more than 10 times faster than 3G, and users in the service area can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and 2 to 5 Mbps for uploads of high quality multimedia content. The LG VL600 features a 4-colour LED Service Status Indicator and supports recent versions of the Windows operating system, though there is no mention of Mac. Although the release date is just around the corner, there is no word on the price yet either.
