The Last Fanless QNAP NAS

Unistar has pushed out a notice that fanless models of its QNAP line of network-attached storage devices are becoming an extinct species. The TS-119P+ NAS, announced last month, is a one-HDD NAS with an upgraded CPU and new hot-swap skills that deprecates the TS-119, which was announced over a year and a half ago. The new CPU and hot-swappability, however, also meant that the new model requires a fan, making the TS-119 the last in its line to be fanless.
Unistar have finished production of the older TS-119 NAS, and warn that people looking for a silent NAS solution, i.e. by pairing it with solid state drives, should consider grabbing a TS-119 before stock runs out.
