LF-MB121JD, the first Blu-Ray DVD burner is available

We have just discovered the LF-MB121JD in the Panasonic building, the first Blu-Ray burner that reads and writes BD-R and BD-RE and reads BR-ROM too. Blank discs are available in 25 and 50 (Dual Layer) formats.

The writing speed is set at 2x (72Mbps). Panasonic seems to have chosen sides in the format war, and according to Kazuhiro Tsuga, Panasonic supports Blu-Ray and they say that this is the only technology that will give consumers a true HD experience.
