ASUS Eee Tablet rechristened Eee Note

There was usually at least one kid in the class whose parents were either eccentric or culturally out of tune, resulting in oddball names that were sometimes cool, but usually a source of ridicule, until the kid grew up, grew into the name and then rocked it. Well, ASUS has done well to rethink the “Tablet” part as “Note” is a bit more of an accurate description for this product, released last May. As for the “Eee,” we will have to see what the Eee Note is like when it grows up.
The Eee Note EA800 (formerly Eee Tablet) has an 8-inch (768 x 1024) monochrome display with 64 levels of grey and 256 levels of pressure sensitivity. It sports 4GB of storage, a 2 megapixel camera, voice recorder, stylus, wi-fi, a microSD slot and a 3700mAh battery. Scheduled for release in January.
