Dutch University Study Suggests Wi-Fi May Be Unhealthy for Trees

There’s no end to the conspiracy theories regarding the detrimental health effects of wi-fi signals and other radio waves that permeate our lives today, but a study commissioned five years ago by the Dutch city of Alphen aan den Rijn has found that ash trees exposed to a variety of radiation sources for three months exhibited various health problems, such as “galena-like effects” resulting from the death of the upper and lower epidermis of leaves (galena is the natural ore form of lead sufide, and has a shiny sheen to its surface). Researchers at Wageningen University say that initial results indicate all western deciduous trees are affected by the same disease, and urge further studies before coming to a more definite conclusion.
