We are talking of uncompressed video stream out via HDMI on GH2 for sometime now but no one and no one has tested it for real. So many have the pre-model but no body has a capture device. A bit strange! It’s also equally surprising that such an important improvement/developmentis kept in secret by the manufacturer-Panasonic. They haven’t confirmed it yet on th eir website..

I wonder how It compares to the video from the SONY NEX-5? What irritates when shooting video with autofocus and big sensors, is when the camera decides to refocus and the objecdt gets in and out of focus. I the excitement over raw video thru HDMI but this really seems to be a feature very few buyer will use.

I may did not make it clear, there ARE NO COMPRESSION when in Video out via HDMI, the picture are not in AVCHD, just RAW image coming from the censor.

I do not read German sorry, but yes as far as I am concerned, being capable to output RAW video on such really capable camera is “the Nail in the Coffin”. I like photo of course but the GH1 and the GH2 even if they are not capable to bit a 5D MK II for example in terms of picture quality, they are the BEST All purpose Camera and in my case where the VIDEO mode is as important as the Photo part of the camera, RAW video output is just amazing. Think about it, a cheap Camera capable to be used in a little Studio environment with RAW output going to your Video Workstation.

saying 0.099 really does sound a lot better than 0.1 heh.
regardless, twice as fast af does help a lot.
with their capabilities, i would like to one day see panasonic make a pro dslr.

I understand the benefits of uncompressed HDMI output for RAW images, but AVCHD video is already compressed with the H.264 standard. I don’t understand the benefit of uncompressed HDMI output displaying compressed AVCHD video.

Yours is the first strong confirmation I’ve seen of raw/uncompressed HDMI output on the GH2. > This information comes straight from Panasonic’s team mouth, so you cannot make it more “official” than that !
