Sanyo’s new PCM recorder, the Xacti

Sanyo has just released a new linear PCM recorder in two colors, white and pink: the ICR-PS401RM, nicknamed “Xacti Sound Recorder”.
It features adjustable noise sensitivity “with a newly developed high-performance stereo microphone”, a large orange LCD, USB Plug and Play, can record linear PCM (up to 48kHz) & MP3 (up to 320kbps), and has a 4GB built-in microSD slot. It measures 39.9×98.8×14.1 and weights 54g.
As for battery life, you can expect: in MP3 recording mode, up to 24 hours with alkaline batteries and 17 hours with eneloop; in PCM recording mode, 10 hours with alkaline batteries and 9 hours with eneloop; in MP3 playback mode, up to 24 hours with alkaline batteries and 18 hours with eneloop; in PCM playback mode, 12 hours with alkaline batteries and 9 hours with eneloop.
The Xacti is expected for release on November 26, 2010 but no price has been announced yet.
