Maxell Announces HDD + USB HDD Reader Bundle

Hitachi Maxell Ltd, better known as the Maxell of cassette tape and battery fame, has announced a limited bundle pack of its 500GB cartridge hard drive, the iV, with a USB 2.0 “computer adapter” and control software.
Maxell’s iV was, in 2007, the world’s first portable hard drive conforming to the iVDR cartridge HDD standard. It supports content rights management technologies and comes in capacities of 80, 160, 120, 250, 320, and 500 GB.
The “computer adapter” to come in the new package is an external iV reader-writer by I-O Data Device Inc., which, bundled with Quick:FLO, I-O Data’s video library software for the iV reader-writer, makes it easy to save videos and recorded media to the connected iV hard drives.
The iV bundle will go on sale on the 25th of November.
