Music Porter X finally available

We presented the Music Porter X during the CEATEC 2005, and just as a reminder, this is a DoCoMo phone with 1GB of memory for your MP3′s and it uses MOBA HO!, a digital sattelite solution that has some difficulties getting off the ground here in Japan. DoCoMo will now finally start selling the Music Porter X (by Mitsubishi) in Japan on April 8th , and that seems a bit late in my humble opinion. AU of KDDI has been selling DMB phones that do not require a monthly payment (MOBA HO! will cost 7 EUR per month), and the AU phones have between 1 and 4Gb of storage space for music files. This new phone seems a bit too little too late when compared to what is already available on the Japanese market now, and we think only the “young” design and the 240×400 screen will be selling points in a market that is in constant evolution and that forgets quickly what is considered outdated.
