W43T, the Toshiba phone that supports 3D GPS

We talked about 3D GPS from KDDI on AU phones this morning and here’s a phone that supports this function, the Toshiba W43T. This 3G CDMA 1x WIN (2.4Mbps) phone also supports “au LISMO” for Listen Mobile Service, an iTUNES like for phones. Add to that a 3.23MP camera, a MiniSD slot, Bluetooth, Hello Messenger to fill up the 50x103x22mm and 125g device. It also has the slowest website known to mankind, it makes 14.4 modem speeds look extremely fast, but that’s due to bad coding. Also noteworthy is that the device is as fine as it is long and the menus are simply incomprehensible (we’re still searching for the setting that turns the Bluetooth off). Japanese telephony is getting quite ridiculous, the services are good and useful, but there’s a lot of work to do to integrate these great functions in a properly designed and original phone! When will those Japanese consumers open their eyes??
